Light on the water.
The Amsterdam Light Festival stretches across the canals of the old centre through the winter months. The artworks are designed to be seen from the water: you sail straight through them rather than looking on from the quayside. From the deck of a classic saloon boat you get the best view of the installations, their reflections and the lit canal houses behind them.
Where the large tour boats sail with full decks and a fixed timetable, at Club Amstel you charter the entire boat for your own party. You choose the time, the pace and whether to moor along the way. The boat is heated and covered, so a winter evening on the water stays comfortable even when it freezes outside.
A Light Festival boat tour is a favourite for a winter company outing, a Christmas drinks party with colleagues or a memorable evening with family and friends. On board we serve hot chocolate, mulled wine, coffee with something sweet or a full sharing menu. Because the festival runs for only a limited number of weeks and evenings fill up quickly, we recommend booking well in advance.

When can I book a Light Festival boat tour?+
The Amsterdam Light Festival runs each winter, generally from late November to mid-January. We sail throughout the festival period; get in touch for the current dates and available evenings.
What does a private Light Festival cruise cost?+
We set the price by arrangement, because cruise duration, party size and the catering you want vary a great deal. Request a quote and you will know exactly where you stand before you book.
Is the boat heated?+
Yes. The saloon boat is covered and heated, so you stay comfortable on board even in freezing weather. Hot drinks are ready for you.
How many guests can come along?+
The boat seats up to 30 guests as standard. For special occasions we can extend to 52 by arrangement.
Is this the same as a shared Light Festival cruise?+
No. You never share the boat with strangers and there is no fixed timetable. You charter the whole boat for your own party and set the time and the pace yourself.
How far ahead should I book?+
The festival lasts only a few weeks and the evenings around the holidays sell out first. We recommend booking well before the season starts.
